Its a Raw New Me
One month ago I decided it was time to lose weight. The new year had began and I was 5 months away from my wedding day. I really had the feeling that this was it, I really was going to do it this time. I started with small changes really, just ate less for lunch and actually ate breakfast. At the time I started eating prunes for breakfast because I, unlike many people, like prunes and they are a great diet food. After months of eating huge lunches I figured a small change may do a lot of good. So I pretty much just ate a sandwich for lunch every day. During this time I also started making a daily trip to the gym and doing mostly cardio. After a couple weeks with this system I saw I had lost a few pounds. I felt good but did not think the weight loss would continue much longer, so I did some soul searching and really felt like I had the will power to try something that most people consider extreme, something I had tried before but couldnt do it, I decided to go raw. For those who dont know what a raw food diet is, its a diet consisting of consuming raw uncooked foods mostly consisting of nuts, seeds, fruits, and vegetables. Now there are many people who go 100% raw but most do not have the will power to follow such a tough diet, but you dont have to go 100% raw to be considered a raw foodist. Most consider any who consumes at least 75% of their food raw, a raw foodist. The past couple of weeks I have done just that. I am now at the end of my first month trying to lose weight and it has turned into something totally different, but effective none the less. At the end of my first month I have lost 22lbs and feel great. This raw food stuff is more than a diet but a life style. I believe I am going to adopt this life style for life. So I am starting this blog so people can keep track of my progress and hopefully find some inspiration to try it for themselves. I feel great and I want you to aswell. So when you find youself choosing something to eat...choose raw!
